All who knew John knew of his love for the steel industry and his passion for those who worked in it. He believed that the secret to making steel was simple; buy the best technology, hire hard-working men and women, and compensate them based on productivity. John’s leadership was truly one-of-a-kind.
John often called the site in Arkansas where the Big River Steel mill is opening “steel mill heaven” because of its proximity to the Mississippi River, direct connection to a main line railroad and access to an interstate highway network. Our fondest wish is that John is now enjoying the view of the site from a new steel mill heaven. We are honored and humbled to dedicate ourselves to completing our mill, growing our company and continuing John’s legacy.
